ICA's Technology and STEM Curriculum

Immaculate Conception Academy recognizes the important role that technology plays in education and everyday life. With this in mind, ICA is dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to utilize technology throughout our curriculum. Classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards and students have access to iPads via our mobile technology cart, as well as desktops in our Media Center. All students in Grades 5-8 are issued Chromebooks for use to enhance their learning throughout the school day.

Students in Grades K-8 participate in Media Studies and STEM classes each week.

In Media Studies, students learn about using technology for research, check out books, and learn about basic desk top use and typing. Safe and proper use of technology and the internet for learning and research is part of our curriculum for all grades.

In STEM Classes, students put their research to use by taking part in grade appropriate hands on projects and experiments. This year,  students have built bottle rockets, confetti shooters, bridges, catapults and made Claymation films. Students also have the use of a green screen to film projects as well as commercials for different student events and community service projects.
